Father’s Day at the Regimental Museum

June 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Treat your dad on Sunday the 18th June to special Father’s Day activities at Cornwall’s Regimental Museum, including tea and cake at our ‘pop up cafe’, and three Gun Handling Sessions at 11:30, 13:00 and 14:00.

Visitors can also explore the Victorian Keep, former barracks of the DCLI regiment, which now houses the museum and includes an original military police cell, dressed for the cold-war era.

Our work in progress exhibition ‘The History of Bodmin Barracks’ will be on display, including a scale model of the barracks, hand made by the museum’s own Regimental Historian, Major Hugo White. Read more about the new exhibition here. Visitors may also discover our temporary exhibition, Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War on the museum’s second floor.

Younger visitors can take part in our family fun quiz and trail in the museum, play the bugle, play military dress up and have fun discovering Cornwall’s military history.

Don’t forget, if you’d like to make a day of it, visitors with a valid Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway ticket will receive up to 40% off museum entry.
