Penmilder and Moyclare Gardens open for NGS

May 7, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

| £6

A rare chance to visit Penmilder garden in Lodge Hill, Moyclare will also be open and a combined ticket for both gardens is £6.

Penmilder is a gently sloping, S-facing 2½ acre Cornish garden, with mature trees and shrubs. Bluebell woods, a haven for wildlife, and apple orchard which is particularly pretty with primroses, daffodils and bluebells in spring. Pond and vegetable garden. Sadly the garden is not suitable for wheelchair users due to gravel paths. There will be cream teas available. The garden is open from 11am to 5pm.

Moyclare has been gardened by one family for over 80yrs. It has  mature trees, shrubs and plants (many unusual, many variegated). Once most televised Cornish garden. Now revived and rejuvenated and still a plantsman’s delight, full of character. Camellia, brachyglottis and astrantia (all Moira Reid) and cytisus Moyclare Pink originated here. There will be home-made teas available. The garden is open from 11.30am to 5pm
