Liskeard Unlocked Heritage Open Days
Liskeard Unlocked is part of Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture and takes place every September. This year it runs from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th September and will be celebrating ROUTES, NETWORKS AND CONNECTIONS old and new. That includes Liskeard’s links to the mines on the moor, the routes to Looe and our recent twinning agreement with Kopychyntsi in Ukraine. As part of Liskeard Unlocked, Liskeard Library is presenting Virtual Reality Immersive Walks. Immerse yourself in nature, experiencing nearby walks from the comfort of the library. Viewed on a projector or through a VR headset you can connect with the sights and sounds of the local area. Liskeard Library, open 10am-5pm (Closed Sundays, open until 7pm on Thursdays). As part of Liskeard Unlocked the future plans for the Guildhall will be unlocked, on Saturday 14th September between 1pm – 3pm. The Grade 2* Listed Liskeard Guildhall is one of only 3 buildings in Liskeard to achieve this level of heritage status. Originally constructed in 1858 to accommodate a magistrate’s court, council office and market.
