Food: A Growing Concern

21 June @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

How do we feed ourselves sustainably in a world that wastes a third of its food while importing nearly half of it?

On Saturday 21st June, join the Cornwall Climate & Nature Hub and WI Climate Ambassadors at Shire House in Bodmin for a powerful and thought-provoking afternoon as they present “Hungry for Change,” a film by Cornwall Climate Care.

This event, part of the Cornwall’s Climate Stories series, dives into the often-overlooked topic of food sustainability. Led by a knowledgeable forager, the film introduces us to a diverse range of inspiring Cornish individuals who are leading the charge in “doing food better.” From gleaners rescuing edible crops that would otherwise be wasted, to pioneers growing food in unlikely places, and a microbiologist encouraging us to embrace sustainable protein alternatives like insects—this event promises to challenge how we think about what we eat.

Held from 1:30 to 4:30pm, the event is free to attend, though refreshments (cash only) and cakes from the WI will be available for a small donation.

Booking is essential—secure your place through Eventbrite.

Join us to be informed, inspired, and perhaps even transformed. It’s time to grow food differently — and wisely.
