VJ Day Celebrations - Liskeard Street Party

Liskeard Traders Association are holding a street party to celebrate the end of World War II in Fore Street Liskeard, Friday 15th August, 11.30am-2pm.

There will be food, music from the era, a fun quiz, a colouring competition from Newells and a raffle plus a prize for the best dressed person wearing period clothes.

 

VE Day 80 Street Party - Menheniot

Come join us to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a street party on Monday 5th May, 2-5pm, in Menheniot located on the road between the tennis courts and school.
.
Everyone bring your own lunch to enjoy, tables and chairs will be provided.
Please take your rubbish home with you at the end.
.
There will be a bar, tea and coffee and music

VE Day - Make Your Own Spitfire

Don’t let the kids miss out on our special Spitfire Making Event at Liskeard & District Museum!

From 10:30 – 12:30 drop in for a FREE workshop with our Learning Volunteer to make your own cardboard Spitfire Airplane.
.
Workshop duration: 45 minutes
.
Plus come along dressed in your 1940’s style outfits, have your photo taken (which we will email to you) and receive a special museum certificate commemorating the 80th Anniversary and your participation in it!
.
There is also a brilliant temporary exhibition all about residents in Liskeard and the surrounding district showing how they lived during World War II.
So why not bring the kids along and celebrate the lives of local residents during World War II

Make Your Own Spitfire - FREE - Liskeard and District Museum

We’ve got another opportunity to take part in our Spitfire Making Event at Liskeard & District Museum during May half term!

Bring the kids along on Tuesday 27th May, there will be sessions 10:30 – 12:30  and then 13:30-15:30 – drop in for a FREE workshop with our Learning Volunteer to make your own cardboard Spitfire Airplane.

'' ''Join Liskeard & District Museum on Thursday 8th May for their special VE Day celebration.

10am hear the town crier Chris Smirthwaite read the official proclamation (which was originally read on the balcony of Webb’s Hotel), followed by our lovely Mayor, Christina Whitty sounding the museum siren.

Explore our World War II exhibition and discover how residents in our town and the surrounding district lived during the war years.
.
Plus come along dressed in your finest 1940s style clothing, have your photo taken (which we will email to you) and receive a special museum commemorative certificate.
