The vibrant community feeling in Liskeard is never more evident than at Christmas time. The town comes alive with a magical winter carnival parade of huge illuminated lanterns, there are vintage gems a-plenty and independent retailers proudly show off their local produce. Take in some of the events below for a real slice of Cornish life…..

Liskeard Vintage Fayre is an annual event celebrating all things vintage. Find unusual Christmas gifts & enjoy an evening of stress-free shopping.
Friday 1st December, 7pm. Liskerrett Community Centre
A ladies evening filled with Christmas trivia, delicious refreshments and the opportunity to buy beautiful Christmas gifts. Teams of up to 6, £2 per person. Organised by Liskeard Light and Life Church.

Liskeard will be celebrating Christmas in a traditional Cornish way this year, with extra decorations, a very special Lights Up including a Christmas feast, wild hunt, a children’s trail around town and a chance for everyone to learn a bit of Cornish.
Saturday 2nd December, from 9am. Our Lady and St Neot Church in West Street will be open all day. Members of the Parish will be on hand to welcome visitors and there will be copies of the Lord’s Prayer translated into Cornish.
Tea and coffee will be available and there will be Christian Advent calendars and booklets on sale. A perfect place for a moment of quiet reflection and prayer away from the hurley burley of Christmas shopping.

Join Santa and his helpers for breakfast. Meet Santa in his grotto, there will also be stalls with cakes, crafts, toiletries etc

A weekly series of workshops to learn a selection of traditional Cornish step and set dances for ‘guise dancing’ in preparation for Liskeard’s Cornish Christmas celebration. With LIVE music. Suitable for any level.
December 1st, 1.45 pm on the Parade
Come and support the dozens of motorbike riders dressed as Santa who will be passing through Liskeard at around 1.45 pm on their annual charity bike ride raising money for Children’s Hospice South West. It’s quite a sight!
December 2nd at 5.30 pm in Liskeard
Liskeard’s annual winter carnival is always a magical evening. There will be a procession of lanterns followed by the switching on of the Christmas lights and a firework display. This year’s theme is a ‘Cornish Christmas’.

Sterts Theatre are again holding a Candlelit Carol Concert in the Theatre (dress up warm), to celebrate the start of Christmas and to raise fund for charity. The cafe and bar will be open, there will be mulled wine and mince pies.
