October Half Term and Halloween Events 2019
Take a look at what’s going on around the Liskeard area this October half term
Liskeard Public Hall, Wednesday 23rd October, 10.30am-12pm
Hop on your broomsticks and prepare to be taken on a Halloween adventure this October!
A fun filled spooktacular yoga class for all the family, including games, arts and crafts, creative storytelling and much more! Fancy dress optional.
Liskeard Public Hall. Thursday 24th and Friday 25th October, 11am to 3pm
Hourly slots will be: 11-12pm, 12-1pm, 1-2pm and 2-3pm. You can just turn up at a session or call 07769 848307 if you would like to book a slot, booking is advised.
Refreshments and snacks will be available to purchase. £2 per hour – it’s a whole lot of fun at a really great price.
Lyskerrys Youth Club, Liskerrett Community Centre, Friday 18th October, 6-9pm
Food, music, and UV festival makeup. Dress up if you dare! Everyone welcome (you don’t need to be a member), under 10s must be accompanied by an adult.
Entry £1 donation
Saturday 2nd November, 2-5pm.
Come and join us in our Spooktacular woodland on the outskirts of Liskeard.
Carve your own pumpkin or turnip, create a shrunken head, try our spiced apple juice in our cauldron and locate all the hidden ghosts and giant spiders……

An exhibition of work by GCSE art students from Liskeard School & Community College, Looe Academy, Saltash.net Community School and Torpoint Community College will be on display in the gallery.

Join Cowslip Theatre for a one off, immersive storytelling experience in a family friendly underground underworld when the veil is thin. Come and follow our Halloween story through the caves hosted by creatures of the night and lost souls searching for light.

Far out in the wild and remote ocean is a small family on an old fishing boat who pass the time with exciting stories and merry music.

Millennium House, Pensilva, Wednesday 23rd October, 2.30 pm.
Join Woody, Buzz and the gang for one last adventure with their new child, Bonnie and her family as they go on a road trip. Trouble begins when Woody takes a slight detour and is reunited with an old friend.
Child tickets are £2. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Drinks and refreshments will be available.
The Old Sardine Factory, West Looe. Thursday 24th October, 11.30am-12.30pm
Join Sue Field and her puppet, Bill, in the heritage centre for spooky tales from South East Cornwall folklore.
We will also be running puppet making activities throughout the day so you can tell your own spooky stories at home.
Saturday 26th October at Menheniot Cricket Field.
Gates open at 5.45pm to allow you plenty of time to get your supper from the BBQ, there will also be hot chocolate, tea and coffee and sweet treats to keep you toastie!
See you at the cricket pavilion in time for the display at approximately 7pm.

Meet Looe Coastguard Station, Saturday 26th October, 10am-12pm
Come and join local experts as we explore the rocky shore, finding lots of the amazing critters that live on it! Learn about starfish, crabs, fish, anemones and lots more at this educational event that is guaranteed to satisfy the whole family. Booking isn’t required
Millennium House, Pensilva. Thursday 31st October, 6-8pm.
Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble. Millennium House Events Group is hosting a spook-tacular Halloween Kidz Party on Halloween. All ghosts and ghouls welcome to come for a boogie, play some games and get their munch on.
Free entry. All children must be accompanied.
Mount Edgcumbe, Sunday 27th October, 12-4pm
Put on your most Spooktacular costume and come and join in the fun. Register to take part at the Barrow Centre.
Last registration 2.45pm – the trail closes at 4pm. Fancy dress competition for all ages at 1.30 pm on the terrace in front of the House with prizes for the scariest costumes

Bodmin Jail, Sunday 27th October, 12 noon to 4pm.
Join us for an afternoon of Halloween fun and frolics for all the family – fancy dress encouraged!

Cotehele Mill, 19th-27th October 11 am – 4 pm
The mill complex will be decorated for Halloween, staff and volunteers will be in fancy dress and there will be a children’s trail with treats.
There will also be children’s crafts at Cotehele Quay on weekdays from 11am – 3pm
October 26th, 5.30 – 7.30 pm
Wander around atmospheric Cotehele House by torchlight for this spooky event which is suitable for children and families. Bring a torch please! Timed-tickets will be issued on arrival. The Barn Restaurant and shop will be open.

Things in the garden might not appear as usual. The den building area will be transformed into a witch’s lair & the black walnut tree will be decorated with witches brooms. Can you find all the pumpkins on the trail?

Eden Project, 19th October – 3rd November
Are you brave enough to venture into the deep dark woods at the Eden Project this October half-term? Join us to explore our forbidden forest filled with mythical monsters and outlandish beasts. There will be a petting zoo of unusual creatures, potion making and pumpkin carving plus owl encounters and more.

Calling all skeletons, zombies, witches and wizards, get ready for an evening of dancing the night away, hunting down our trick or treat stations, and spooky storytelling. Keep your eyes peeled for our Ghostly Gate Keeper, real-life creepy crawlies and firefly stilt walkers.
