Beating the Bounds #3 - Kelly Bray-Kit Hill

We’re kick-starting the Folk on the Edge project with a series of free walks across this end of Cornwall. Join us as we explore the unique landscapes of the Cornish Borderlands and begin to unlock some of the folklore hidden within them.
Each walk will be guided and will vary in length and difficulty.

Beating the Bounds is a traditional custom where, once a year, communities walked the boundary of their parish. Creating and maintaining a shared mental map of home.

For the third walk we’re heading to Callington. Sunday 5th May, 11am.

Starting at the Swingletree Inn at Kelly Bray we will climb up through the national park on Kit Hill to the summit and tower then down past the quarry back to the pub to debrief.
5 Miles lots of uphill but all on paths and roads.

We encourage participants to come with cameras to document the trip, and stories to share but ask you to leave dogs at home.
