British Fireworks Championships
August 18 @ 6:00 pm - August 19 @ 10:00 pm
The British Firework Championships will be back in August after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The event is hosted by Plymouth City Council and The Event Services Association (TESA) each summer and typically sees a crowd of around 100,000 people descend on Plymouth Hoe to marvel at the incredible fireworks and pyrotechnics.
This year, the spectacular competition will take place on August 18 and 19, as part of a fantastic programme of events for Plymouth this summer.
Deputy council leader Pete Smith said previously: “The British Firework Championships really are the jewel in the crown of our brilliant annual events programme and we’re delighted to be able to announce the dates for 2021 – remember to pop it in your diaries as it’s always an unmissable event.”
Director of TESA, Jim Winship added: “We are looking forward to returning to Plymouth in 2021. After a fallow year for fireworks across the UK, we are keen to get back on track with a spectacular show to celebrate the return of the Championships.”
This year’s event is expected to see three ten-minute displays each evening, while a fun fair and a variety of food and drink stalls will be up on the Hoe for people of all ages to enjoy.
