12 June: Cornwall’s Climate Story – Down the Drain

Down the Drain is presented by retired vet and passionate kayaker Rupert Kirkwood, who takes viewers on a journey of discovery up the River Tamar.

Along the way he finds out about how increasingly torrential and unpredictable rain is affecting our wildlife, the water we all need to drink and grow our crops, and the safety of our homes.

Featuring gorgeous shots of Calstock and Directed by Lower Kelly’s own Bryony Stokes this film looks at how our fresh water will be affected by climate change Cornwall wide but shows examples here on the River Tamar.

Join us for an evening of community discussion on how we can rise us to the challenges this might present. The 30 minute film will be followed by photographs of Rupert Kirkwood’s encounters with wildlife on our own river, and a Q&A panel including Rupert, Sophie Westwood from the parish council, experts and the film makers themselves.
