Liskeard Old Cornwall Society- Cornish Personalities- Rev Stephen Hawker

Liskeard Old Cornwall Society will be meeting on Friday 12th Jan at 2.30 pm at Liskeard Public Hall and having a talk about Cornish Personalities – Rev Stephen Hawker, given by Alan and Anne Cox.

Richard Stephen Hawker. Hawker was educated at Liskeard Grammar, is credited with composing The Song of the Western Men and as Vicar of Morwenstow gave Christian burials to many sailors shipwrecked on the rugged North Cornwall coast.
