Liskeard Storytelling Cafe – Earth, Water, Fire!

November 23, 2023 @ 7:30 pm

| £10

Liskeard Storytelling Café – join storyteller Lisa Schneidau for ‘Earth, Water, Fire!’ Exploring today’s land through our ancestors’ eyes. For ages 13+

In the times before modern science, things were explained differently. Tales told through generations passed on the knowledge and wisdom of people and place, wrapped in the epic journeys of heroes, heroines, and dragons.

What hero stories would our ancestors tell of rural life today? Our landscapes are rapidly changing, the maidens have attitude and armour is pointless…

Earth, Water, Fire! was an Arts-Council funded project in North Devon during 2022-23, working with Beaford, Plymouth University and North Devon and Torridge Councils. The project explored the latest climate and environmental science, met people battling with modern monsters, and explored how science and stories can entwine to illuminate the new generations living in the long-established landscapes around us.

Devon-based storyteller Lisa Schneidau tells the stories that resulted from this epic journey of discovery.

Held from 7.30pm in the Emily Hobhouse Room in the Public Hall Liskeard.

Entry by donation (suggested amount £10), all enquiries please ring 01579 324631.
