Join Mousehole Male Voice Choir for a Gala concert of summer music. Special guests Sterts Singers.
Mousehole Male Voice Choir formed in 1909 in the beautiful village on the western shore of Mount’s Bay in the depths of west Cornwall. The choir perform around 25 to 30 times each year, from large churches and cathedrals to small schools, and usually a few summer events by the harbour In Mousehole. The choir have been busy returning to a routine of practice and concert since the Covid pandemic started over two years ago. This is our second appearance at the Sterts Theatre with the choir currently in a busy spell, learning quite a few new pieces for their Summer Festival concert at Chapel Street Methodist Church in Penzance on Sunday 7th August. The choir have made several CDs over the years, and these will be available this evening. You can also follow the choir on Facebook, or see what is happening at:www.mouseholemalevoicechoir.com
We practice at Paul Church, and visitors are always welcome. West Cornwall is well worth a trip!
Annette Turton has had a lifetime of musical excellence! The choir have been fortunate to have Annette as accompanist since 2006, and she provides great support in the practice room as well as a beautiful touch to the piano in concerts.
Stephen Lawry has been Musical Director since 2004 and thoroughly enjoys working with the men. He also conducts the Penzance Orpheus Ladies Choir, and sings bass in the Newlyn quartet, Buccas Four.
